• There are two Notices required in the Commonwealth of Massachusettes: a Notice of Contract and a Statement of Account.

• Notices must include the street address of the property and the Book and Page of Deed (available on the Registry of Deeds website).

• Make checks payable to:

• $75.00 per document (regardless of number of pages) for either 8-1/2″ x 11″ or 8-1/2 x 14″ paper.

• (Total of $150.00 for both the Notice of Contract and the Statement of Account.)

• There are additional postage fees which vary by district, and can be avoided by sending a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.

TURN AROUND TIMES:

• Actual Recording: 1 business day.

• To view Information on their website: 2 business days after recordation.

• For Original document to be mailed back: 2 days after recordation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• It’s fine to send both notices to the county in the same envelope and pay with a single check. Also, you need only include one Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.

• Conforming Copies are not provided due to the quick processing times.

• The Registry of Deeds does not send copies to the debtors.
