| For General/Prime Contractors, a MISSOURI Notice To Owner must be served on the Owner prior to recording a Mechanic’s Lien Statement. Note that it must be given to the Owner prior to receiving payment at the time of the execution of the contract. It can also be given when the materials are delivered, or when the work is commenced.
For Subcontractors, a Preliminary Notice is optional. It can be delivered to the Owner and other legal parties soon after the start of a private Commercial project.
